About us.....The Mothers' Center of Southwest Nassau, Inc. is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian community organization operated and funded fully by our members. With very few exceptions, all work is done by volunteers. The MCSWN has an excellent and experienced childcare staff which is committed to professionalism. They expertly care for our members' children with kindness and compassion and are especially attentive to helping children (and moms) separate.

Why join a Mothers' Center?... a Mothers' Center offers the opportunity for mothers to meet in small groups, find support and make new friends. The groups provide a non-judgmental forum where we share stories about the challenges and joys of parenting. The Mothers' Center provides relief from the isolation many mothers experience and can help to take the place of the vanishing extended family. The Mothers' Center of Southwest Nassau has much to offer.

* A "Transitions to Motherhood" introductory group, which serves as an orientation for all new members

* An opportunity for children to interact with other children

*A chance to learn and share in a supportive, confidential group setting

*A special place to meet other mothers in the community

We Reach Out to Mothers...The Mothers' Center of Southwest Nassau holds several Open Houses per year, but a mother can inquire about becoming a member at any time. Too many people parent in isolation, unsure of how to handle the ups and downs of normal child development. The Mothers' Center of Southwest Nassau offers mothers a chance for reflection, discussion, learning and fun - a chance to be with other mothers.
